Our Doctors


Dr. Allison Koonce  photo

Dr. Allison Koonce

Dr. Allison Koonce is co-owner of Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in the heart of Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Allison holds her USDA certification for interstate travel, DEA license and is a member of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Allison received her education at Louisiana State University where she majored in Biological Engineering and went on to graduate in the top 10 of her class at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Allison is a lifelong member of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Leadership Honor Society, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity for Women and Phi Zeta, the Veterinary Honor Society. Dr. Koonce was chosen to participate in Summer Scholars, a competitive student research program, and went on to win First Place for her poster presentation of "The role of the Edwardsiella ictaluri type IV secretion system in virulence in channel catfish". Currently, Dr. Allison is a member of the Junior League of Little Rock and enjoys volunteering and giving back to her community. Her favorite Arkansas experiences include the birth of her sons Louis and Theo. She is also very proud of completing the Little Rock Half Marathon. Dr. Allison and Dr. Brent have two dogs, a rescue chihuahua mix named Diego and a recently adopted yellow lab named Olga!

Dr. Jonathan Brent Koonce

Dr. Jonathan Brent Koonce is co-owner of Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Koonce grew up in Little Rock and is a graduate of Catholic High School. He studied at the University of California at Santa Barbra and went on to earn his BS in Animal Science from the Dale Bumper's Honors College at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Koonce earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University where he received Clinical Excellence Awards in both Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, and Oncology. Dr. Koonce currently holds his DEA license, USDA Accreditation and is a member of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Koonce enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the beauty of Arkansas with his sons Louis and Theo and their rescue pup, Olga.

Dr. Aubren Cabe

Dr. Aubren Cabe is from Greenwood, Arkansas. She attended Arkansas Tech University for her undergraduate studies and graduated summa cum laude. She moved to Baton Rouge, LA to attend veterinary school at LSU. Dr. Cabe is member of Phi Zeta veterinary honor society and AVMA. She is married to her high school sweetheart and together they raise their son, Kellyn, along with two rescue pups.

Dr. Maggie Phillips

Dr. Maggie Phillips is from Ruston, Louisiana, but she also lived overseas in Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2016 and then moved to Baton Rouge, LA to attend veterinary school at Louisiana State University. While in vet school, Dr. Phillips was Vice President of VBMA and received the outstanding student award for excellence in Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Phillips enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband and long-haired dachshund, Philly. Her interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, dermatology, and dentistry. She is excited to build relationships with all of the awesome clients at PVVC.

Amelia started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in February of 2020. She has a Tibetan Spaniel names Delilah, a Siberian husky named Kira, and a super cuddly cat named Maxwell who rocks a white tuxedo. She plans to have a lifetime career involving veterinary medicine and hopes to continue to be more hands-on with patients. She loves to go hiking with her dogs, go swimming and fishing in the outdoors, and any fun activities that involve being with her husband.

Carley has worked for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic since November 2017 and she is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. Currently, she has three types of species of pets at home and she enjoys grooming and walking them when she isn't working at Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic.

Jordan started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in 2014. She graduated from Heritage College in Little Rock, AR. She is a dog mom of a golden retriever and three beagles. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and she is currently learning to sew.

Tori started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic again in 2019, but she had worked here previously for a year and a half. She has an Aussie named Isabelle and a cat named Lakin. Eventually, she wants to be a DVM, so she loves PVVC for the experience she’s gaining. She enjoys sleeping, hiking, tattoos, and being outside.

Tatum started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in January 2020 and she is originally from Cabot, Arkansas. She aspires to learn as much as possible to provide the highest quality care for animals that she interacts with as a veterinary assistant. She enjoys fishing, sleeping, hiking, watching television, and baking. One day, she hopes to become a wildlife conservationist. Her current loves include her Golden Retriever, Kal, and her crazy kitty, Britta.

Kirstin started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in July of 2021. She joined our team after moving from Pensacola, FL though her hometown is actually Fort Walton Beach, FL. She has one dog, Ivy, along with three cats - Malaa, Ari, and Rosie. Her goals while working at PVVC include learning as much as possible and making connections with our clients. While not at work, Kirstin enjoys drawing, painting, playing with her dog, and listening to music.

Dane started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in June 2018. He is originally from Ohio and is trained in Culinary Arts and has his Bachelors in Human Nutrition. He loves to cook, travel, play disc golf, and watch football and baseball outside of work.

Madison started working at PVVC in May 2021 and is originally from Sheridan, AR. She has plans to attend Veterinary Technician school. She intends to work her way up from Kennel Tech to Vet Tech. While not taking care of our boarding and in house patients, she is playing basketball or volleyball, cooking, or spending time outdoors hiking. Madison has two dogs: Meeko - a Rottweiler (named after the racoon from Pocahontas) and Bruce - an Aussie/Lab Mix puppy that's full of attitude!

Chasity joined the Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic team in July 2021. She has a two year old, Beagle Mix named Paris that she adopted from a local shelter. Chasity's goals while working at PVVC include gaining experience towards her long-term goal of becoming a vet. With her free time, Chasity likes taking her dog on car rides and spending time with her family.

Annelise joined the Pleasant Valley Vet Clinic team in July of 2021. She has a six-year-old Miniature Dachshund named Darcy who she LOVES! Her goals while at PVVC include exploring the veterinary field with the possibility of it turning into a lifetime career. While not at the clinic loving on our boarding and in-house patients, Annelise loves to spend time outdoors, working on her photography skills, spending time with animals of all kinds, and traveling! She's currently working on making it to all 50 states!

Jerrica started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in 2018. She has four cats, Parker, Poof, Si, and Pip. She strives to ensure all patients and clients are happy and to learn as much as she possibly can to make their visit easy. She enjoys reading, DIY projects, hanging out with friends, and listening to music.

Kaitlin started working for Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic in August 2020. She is originally from Sherwood and is excited to continue to learn as much as she can with the goals of moving up to an assistant and continuing from there. She loves to fish, hike, work on trucks, go to the lake, and drag race with her family at Centerville. She is a huge Harry Potter Fan and cannot wait to one day visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Her lab mix Bella loves to play fetch and swim and her Catahoula loves to lay in the sun and roam the fields.

Alyssa joined the Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic team in June 2021. She is originally from Blytheville, AR. This is her first position in the veterinary field and is excited to learn the ins and outs of animal care while taking on the CSR position. Her future goals include becoming a veterinarian for marine animals or doing husbandry work. In her free time, Alyssa likes to travel, read, play video games, and spend time with her fiance and their two Pomeranians, Jasmine and Daisy.
