John  Wray

Dr. John Wray joined the Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic team in 2026.

Born in the San Francisco Bay area, he grew up in Greenbrier, Arkansas and began working as a veterinary assistant at age thirteen. After graduation from Greenbrier High School, he gained extensive experience working in small animal and emergency practices in Central Arkansas. During this time, he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician.

Dr. Wray attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, graduating with a Poultry Science degree in 2020. While in Fayetteville, he continued to gain experience working as a veterinary technician at a surgical referral practice and as a laboratory animal technician. Dr. Wray graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024, and eagerly returned to Central Arkansas.

As a veterinarian, he is especially interested in dentistry, dermatology, and surgery. Dr. Wray enjoys developing long-term relationships with his clients and patients, working with them to develop an effective treatment plan that emphasizes practicality and quality of life.

In addition to his passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Wray enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and playing the clarinet. He is married to his wife, Jenna, an avid reader and editor. Together they own two Australian Shepherds (Mark and Luke) and a cat (Mabel).
